Majors At Mason Video Series

Mason is home to 243 different majors, all of which have their own unique opportunities and experiences. These majors are all listed and thoroughly described on Mason's various websites, but this isn't always the most effective way to communicate this information to students with various different learning styles. This is why F1rst Gen has made it our mission to take the next step and host a video series wherein we interview students and faculty within each major to learn more about what each major entails, and to share this information with all George Mason students. The goal of this project is to document information about every single major in order to give students another key resource that will help with their overall success in college.

In order to accomplish this project, F1rst Gen will need your help! You can sign up to volunteer as an interviewer in this project and contribute your footage to our organization in order to benefit your community and have the chance to win some awesome rewards for doing so! Frst Gen Fridays!

Every Friday we make it our mission to highlight one first generation student at Mason in order to both praise them for their success and encourage other students to strive for this excellence. Along with getting recognition on our social media accounts, this students will receive a certificate to validate their first generation excellence. The semester will end off with recognition for the first generation student of the year. This student will receive a F1rst Gen scholarship to reward all of their hard work throughout the semester. F1rst Gen Leadership Series

George Mason has a variety of different leadership positions for students to take part in. These jobs are great for building both teamwork and leadership skills. In order to help first generation students acquire and succeed in these positions. Each video in this series will cover a different leadership position including Resident Advisor, Patriot Leader and Mason Ambassadors.
