Sheri Keyser welcomes attendees at the registration table

Students, faculty, staff, and community members gathered to hear academic and commercial perspectives on Cybersecurity on Thursday, May 2nd in the Sid & Reva Dewberry Hall at George Mason University. Sheri Keyser, Vice President of Programs & Webmaster, greets attendees and distributes programs at the registration table prior to the event.

Our first speaker, Roy Folledore III, presented an academic perspective of Cybersecurity. Mr. Follendore is a Professor of Security and Cryptography for George Mason University's M.S. in Telecommunications Program and is the President of Transaction Control International, Inc. Mr. Follendore received a B.F.A. from the Memphis Academy of Art, a B.S. from New York State University, and a M.S. in Communication at Memphis State University. Among his achievements and credits includes the concept of cryptocommunication.

Dr. Stephen Ruth presents cybersecurity issues from a global perspective

Dr. Stephen Ruth is Professor of Public Policy and Technology Management in the School of Public Policy at George Mason University, and Director of the International Center for Applied Studies in Information Technology (ICASIT). Dr. Ruth received his B.S. from the US Naval Academy and M.S. from the Navy Postgraduate School. His Ph.D. is from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Ruth spoke about the implications of Cybersecurity concerns around the world including the potential for attacks on United States critical infrastructure.

Scott Rogers discusses cybersecurity prevention in the workplace

Scott W. Rogers is currently self-employed at "The Internet Business Exchange, Inc." or TIBEX.com, with his partner, Steven R. Steiner. TIBEX specializes in information technology solutions. Mr. Rogers has a B.A. in Computer Information Systems from the State University of New York Institute of Technology, and over 20 years of experience in computers, networking, and security.

Scott Rogers gives a demonstration of a Web camera used for security

Mr. Rogers and his partner, Mr. Steiner, gave an informative demonstration of Web camera technology as well as previewed several biometric devices designed to prevent access to critical information by unauthorized individuals.
