Patriot Rescue is a student-run, on-campus emergency medical services start-up initiative.
Our mission is to provide exceptional pre-hospital care to the students, faculty, staff, and visitors of George Mason University. We aim to accomplish this through a commitment to training, education, and outreach at the local, state, and national levels.
We were founded in early 2019 by GMU alum Joshua Gilbert, who was joined on the project by Carter Rainey shortly after. During the spring, they worked to establish relations with various offices and organizations to get the program running. Following Joshua's departure from the organization in May 2019, Carter took the reigns of running the startup.
Patriot Rescue now has over 35 student volunteers who are excited to start up a game changing program on campus. We partner with several groups including Georgetown University, The George Washington University, Virginia Tech, Arizona State University, and the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation.
We are working towards university approval over the fall and winter, followed by state approval tentatively in the late spring. Our aim is to be operational and providing services to the Fairfax Campus by the beginning of the Fall 2020 semester.
