Bioengineering General Body Meeting:
It has been a while since our previous event, and we thank you for your patience. We hope to get the society up and running agian. In this respect, we would really appreciate your input. Come to the General Body Meeting on April 14th from 4 to 5:30 in Engineering Room 2608. There will be free food!

BE Kickoff Meeting:
The Biomedical Engineering society is having its first meeting of the semester. It will take place this Wed. Feb 24th at 6 pm in The Engineering Building Rm. 2608. We will be going over all the events we have planned for the semester and there will also be food! Be sure to stop by.

NIH Tour on Friday!:
The guided-tour will be from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.. E-mails were sent out to a few researchers and we are waiting on their reply, but 1 lab has already gotten back to us. A visit to the Medical Library will also be available for eveyone.We hope to see you all there. Here is the map http://parking.nih.gov/visitor_access_map.htm

So here is the Itinerary:
-Meet at 8:45 A.M (Mason Statue)
-Leave Mason statue at 9:00 A.M
-Go to Vienna Metro ($4.50 parking,metro fee around $5 round trip)
-Get to NIH Medical Center station 10:20
-Walk to Building 10 (North Lobby)
**Make sure to bring Picture ID! for security check-in**
-Finish guided-tour at 12 p.m
-Lunch at building 10 (b1 level) from 12-1 p.m
-Visit NIBIB (National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering) lab(s)
-NIH Medical Library
-Get back to metro after everything

BIOL 425 for Summer 2010:
Biology 425 Human Physiology is an elective for the bioengieering concentration, and will be offered in the Summer semester of 2010. If you are considering taking it or have any questions regarding the course, you can contact Mike Kane, mkane6@gmu.edu.

BioEngineering Public Meeting:
After a long break, we here at the Biomedical Engineering Society at Mason would like to invite you to our first event of the semester. This public meeting serves to welcome new members to the organization and informs about the events we will be having. We will be hosting the event in SUB II Ballroom 3BK, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday Sept. 30th.

Welcome Back Fellow Students:
Welcome back to Mason for the Fall 2009 semester. We hope you had a wonderful and refreshing summer.We have a number of events planned that we will reveal to you shortly. Hopefully, we will be more active this time around. Thank you for you continued interest in our organization, and we wish you a sucessful semester.

Bioengineering MS Thesis Defense:
Master's student Hossein Ghaffari is defending his thesis on a hum-powered controller for power wheelchairs on July 30th in ENGR 3202 at 1:00. First Meeting:
Our first meeting is confirmed! The meeting will be held at SUB II room 6 at 2:00 pm on Wednesday April 8th. A few professors have agreed to speak. There will also be free food and snacks, so invite your friends. We hope to see you all there.

BioEngineering @ Engineers Day:
Engineering Day was a blast! We got a couple dozen signatures and even some information about potential sponsors for our events. We know its been a while since this organization got started and things are moving slow, but we're confident that we'll be up to speed soon. Look for our General Body Meeting coming sometime soon.

Welcome back to GMU for Spring 2009. Finally, we have a website and can move on to more interesting aspects of being a student organization. We are here to inform you about the bioengineering field and provide you opportunities to experience what biomedical engineering has to offer. Stay tuned for a lot of exciting events and activities. We also want you share any ideas you have. On behalf of me and the rest of the BE society, I wish you all a happy semester.
