Welcome to the African Student Association webpage at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. Check our announcements page for the latest information from the African Student Association (Asa). Our first meeting for the Spring semester was held on Thursday February 4th 1999 in SUB II.

Our Mission

Asa was formed "To promote cultural and social awareness of the African people amongst the entire student and faculty of George Mason University. To facilitate better communication and understanding between African people and all other members of the university community. To encourage activities that portray the noble, cultual treasures of the African continent."

Asa Profile

The African Student Association at GMU is a non-discriminatory club with the intention of enlightening the GMU community on the cultural diversity of its students. Membership of ASA is open to all GMU students regardless or age, sex or color. Our umbrella association is the International Student Umbrella (ISU).
