About Our Chapter

At George Mason University, we pride our- selves in being a part of the largest student-run organization in the country. NSBE mission statement: to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community in our programs.

Founded in 1992, GMU-NSBE is the premier organization for African- American students pursuing STEM degrees at George Mason University. Additionally, GMU-NSBE is a proud affiliate of Region Two – whose members represent more than 60 Chapters throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. 

Through the support of the national organization, the Volgenau School of Engineering at George Mason University, and corporate sponsorship, NSBE-GMU upholds our mission statement as well as the national directives.
