Students may select an optional concentration in mathematics education; students who do not select this concentration study traditional mathematics.
Students must fulfill all requirements for bachelor’s degrees . In addition to satisfying university-wide general education requirements and requirements for the BA degree in COS , students must satisfy the requirements listed below.

Core Courses (26 credits):
Electives for Traditional Mathematics (12 credits):
- 12 additional credits of electives in MATH numbered above 300 (excluding MATH 400)
Concentrations
Students may select an optional concentration in education. ▲ Concentration in Mathematics Education (MTHE)
Students selecting the mathematics education concentration take the following 33 credits of coursework in place of the 12 credits of MATH electives listed above. Note:
The above courses satisfy the university-wide requirement in quantitative reasoning. A maximum of 6 credits of grades below 2.00 in course work designated MATH may be applied toward the major. |
