This 36-credit master’s of science degree in Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion takes a science-based approach toward the fields of athletic training, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning. This degree prepares students to become professionals capable of applying evidenced-based scientific principles. Completion of this degree prepares students for employment in human performance and allied health related professions or the pursuit of further academic study (doctoral programs). This program offers the traditional research masters’ thesis or a research project option.
This program of study is offered by the School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism (RHT) within the College of Education and Human Development .

Application Requirements
In addition to fulfilling admission requirements for graduate study, applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree in a discipline related to the field of kinesiology, exercise science, or athletic training. All applicants are required to submit results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE); three letters of reference (two from professors); resume; official transcripts; and a 500 word statement outlining their background and experience and future career goals. Successful applicants have a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0. Admission to the graduate programs is competitive. Meeting the minimum admission criteria does not guarantee admission. Successful completion of an undergraduate course in statistics and physics is strongly recommended. |
