Unit: Global and Community Health
This 15-credit certificate prepares participants to use statistical methods to analyze health care data. It is designed for health scientists and professionals in health-related government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, research hospitals, public health agencies, and other medical research organizations who design medical experiments and analyze and interpret complex health data. In addition, the program helps prepare students to begin careers in such organizations.
The certificate is a joint graduate certificate program of the Department of Statistics in the Volgenau School of Engineering and the Department of Global and Community Health in CHHS. Courses are taught by faculty members from both programs.
Application Requirements
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to health science or statistics, such as medicine, biology, nursing, health science, biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, and psychology. A course in statistics and a course in college algebra with a grade of B or higher are required for admission to the program.
