PHIL 673 - Current Issues in Theory of Knowledge

Credits: 3
Advanced exploration of conditions and limits of knowledge, from the perspective of contemporary philosophy. Is there any infallible, or fallible but at least reasonable, foundation for achieving an understanding of the world and of our minds? This question is examined from the perspective of sense datum theory, coherentism, and various naturalized epistemologies. The nature of a priori knowledge (from mathematics and logic) is also examined.

Graduate standing.
