Dietrich Gurney President
Prior to
joining the GMU Masters of Science Telecommunications International
program, Ms. Gurney spent her undergraduate years at Carnegie
Melon University.
She plans to pursue her
PhD at GMU. She's working as a Senior Network Engineer at America Online.
Ms. Gurney is an all-rounder. She enjoys such hobbies as basketball.

Ms. Jen Hartz
Vice President of Communications
Jen Hartz expects to
graduate this spring with an MS in Telecommunications from George Mason,
with a focus on Network Engineering. She attended the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology
in 1997. She is a self-taught Network Engineer, having become interested
in the field in 1998. She received a CCNA Cisco Certification in 1999. As
a Network Engineer, Jen has worked for Lockheed Martin and is currently
employed by America Online. After graduation in May, Jen plans on
continuing her career at AOL and possibly teaching network engineering to
undergraduate or graduate students.

Simancik
Secretary
Thomas Simancik is
currently pursuing his Masters of Science degree in Telecommunications at
GMU. His focus is in Network Technologies and Wireless Communication. He
earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from
Old Dominion University in 1996. Tom is a Senior Systems Engineer with
Raytheon Systems Company and has been employed with them since May of
1997. In that time he has worked on several Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV)
projects and within their Secure Communications group. Upon completion of
his degree in Spring of 2003, Tom plans to continue working for Raytheon
while pursuing his PhD in Information Technology at George Mason.
