Healthy Wealthy & Wise

{1}   Ben Franklin said it, and you should “Just Do It!”

The venerable Grandfather of our Country said a lot of good things that we all should memorize and follow.

He was a newspaper publisher in his day and represented the good that “newspapering” can do. Just because we have a Media that mostly stinks is no reason we shouldn’t be active in Journalism.

There were bad newspapers in the early years of the Republic just like there are now. Some Founding Fathers were bad and some were good, just like politicians now. We should all be active Journalists in some way to help drive out the bums that infest the area of Freedom of the Press Public Life generally.

Healthy consists of trying to eat and drink RIGHT. Which means, whole real natural foods whenever you can get them. Train yourself to like and eat them. Junky garbage food kills, cripples and harms more people in the ‘good old USA’ than all other harmful things including legal and illegal drug use, cigarettes, crime and alcohol.

It’s not that these things are not harmful and bad; it’s just that misuse of food is so much worse for you. Among the other things it damages is your pocket book. Bad food is more expensive than good food.

{2}  Wealthy is the second good thing that Franklin advises us on. He also said, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” Of course Liberals don’t want you to save money, because they want you poor and therefore jealous and resentful about the wealth of others.

In other words Liberals want you to become a socialist or communist revolutionary, and that will not work unless they first teach you to be poor.

They hate the teachings of Franklin, which is why he is no longer taught in the schools. 40 years ago a child in kindergarten or first grade would memorize much of the sage advice of Franklin such as, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” Now the children learn how great it is to have two mommies and no daddy or two daddies and no mommy.

Bottom line is, SAVE MONEY EVERY SINGLE DAY. Even if you are only earning minimum wage as a part time worker, and are still in school full time, you should religiously save10% or 25% or more of everything you earn.

No Gaste todo, pero ahorre! (Don’t throw it all away, save some) is the way it sounds in Spanish. Pay yourself first then pay others you might owe. Now this is important! What you save is not real savings if you EVER spend it. This is savings you must vow never to spend, no matter what emergency comes up or it is not REAL SAVINGS.

{3} If you spend it or only save it with the idea of spending it, then it is not REAL savings. REAL SAVINGS are savings that you never spend.

Now, obviously, at some point you will have money that you set aside and spend, but in the beginning you should not do this.

FIRST, you get your permanent nest egg set up and growing. There are all kinds of reasons to do this, and we will deal with some of them later on this site. This is only a Primer, not a full course in money management.

Wise is the last of the trinity of values that are the basic building blocks of a quality life. Franklin’s point was that if you do not have your health, your wealth and wisdom wont be of much use to yourself or to others.

A sick person can’t earn, save, or wisely use the money or life he has. So, first take care of your health. Second, make sure you have some money and that you keep instead of spending it. And thirdly when you are a healthy person who has money you are now ready to use that health and money in the pursuit of good.

How can you protect the trees or the flag if you have no health and no money?

{4}  Now, as to wisdom, what is it, and how does one get it, and then use it for good? Wisdom is knowing what you know and what you don’t know and the lifetime pursuit of getting more of what you know that is true. Let’s take a simple example of human frailty, stupidity, and ill will.

Other examples can be given but try this one, it’s simple. Go to any electronics store and notice the tape machines, the ones that use audiotapes. What you will see is, they have these little windows which are supposed to allow you to see the tape, as to whether it is moving, which way it is moving and how fast, and how much tape is on each spool. So far so good.

Then look a little closer and you will see that the company has darkened the glass so you can barely see through it. Smoked it in fact. Now, what is going on here?

Don’t blame the companies. They simply make what people want and have said they want. And what they have said they want is a window to see the tape, but they want it smoked over, so the whole look of the machine will be space age looking, or cool looking.

So here you have the ordinary goofus who wants two things that are contradictory and the companies are willing to supply them so they can get the sale. Now multiply this a few thousand times and you get some idea of how screwed up the world is, and who, how, and why it got that way.

When you battle this kind of stupidity and evil you will be developing what Franklin called Wisdom.
