Volunteering Opportunities & Internships |
||
Patriots Voice Campus Newspaper
and Leadership Forum Coalition need volunteers and interns. All our staff are
volunteers or interns. Neither Patriots Voice nor LFC have any paid
employees, nor do they intend to have any. We believe in volunteerism in
service to organizations and causes that people passionately believe in. If an organization is not worth
volunteering for, it’s not worthwhile, period. That’s how we think.
Non-Profit Churches, Charities, and Educational Institutions are not profit
making companies, thus everyone involved with them should be a volunteer. Why
should some work for free and others get paid. It creates two classes of
people in the “church.” In a Non-Profit there are no
profits to share or divide, and so there is no purpose to be served, or place
for, labor unions or professional do-gooders trying to do well working for
“the church.” Ideally ALL non-profit
organizations should be completely run and staffed by volunteers who serve
because they believe in the purposes of the organization. Expenses could be
paid and other benefits might be appropriate, but salaries should be out of
the question. |
Most non-profit organizations
betray their purpose and objectives by developing a paid staff of people who
are only concerned with advancing their own paycheck. These kinds of people
need to look for work in the private “for-profit” sector of the economy, and
that includes ministers, priests and rabbis. If they are so hard up for
money that they need a salary they should work in the private sector, not
leach off the “good works” of religious, charitable and educational
non-profits. If this ruffles someone’s feelings then apply the rule of, “if
the shoe fits wear it.” The Mormon Church, for example,
is one of the fastest growing religious organizations in the world and does a
ton of good works. Interestingly enough, it pays no salaries to its Ministers.
So, if you want to contribute
your time, money and effort toward something that really matters. Check-in
with LFC and Patriots Voice Newspaper. We are non-denominational and
non-sectarian, so if you are intolerant of other religions, or under the
disciplined control your own religion then maybe we are not for you. We
believe in religious freedom, first and foremost. |
