You are invited to Thanksgiving dinner this Thursday

My dear friends,

Once a year, the Thanksgiving is just round the corner! According to tradition, the first Thanksgiving in America was celebrated in 1621 by the Pilgrims who had come from England and founded the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts. Although Thanksgiving and the Pilgrims just seem to go together, Historically speaking, however, the truth is that the Pilgrims never held a feast of thanksgiving. Isn't it out of your knowledge? Ha Ha Ha... You know what, to these devoutly religious people, a day of thanksgiving in fact would have been a day of prayer and fasting. Yet I don't play the trick here before you cancel the turkey. Just take a look at the three-day feast that the Pilgrims and Indians did hold. It was this harvest celebration that later became known as the First Thanksgiving in America! See? So please put down the turkey to save a la carte for us.

Today in America, Thanksgiving gives us an impression of shopping, travelling and family reunion. It is really good for us to put down studies and works (not turkeys) taking a break doing nothing in this holiday or doing what "Romance does"--I mean, doing what American does.

But you may ask, "I did finish my shopping, and I don't travel for family union since my family is in China. So what can I do in celebrating Thanksgiving as American does?" Good question, my friends! Something better and more exciting for you in this holiday is just round the corner too and let me tell you what:

A Thanksgiving dinner is specifically prepared for you in this Thursday evening! That's right! All of you are sincerely invited by your long term friends of GMUCCF! Also, many fun programs will be provided after the dinner: we will sing songs, tell stories, give testimonies and play games... Whoops! I am afraid that I have revealed something and I am not going to make you stuff up right here. So come on my dear friends, never quietly confined yourself in personal castle mingling your nostalgic drinks in the holiday. Just say "Yes" and simply show up to join us enjoying our Chinese style Thanksgiving dinner meeting old friends and making new friends!

We will pick you up at GMU Cuebus Station by 5:15 PM this Thursday. We can also pick you up from your home or other places if needed. For transportation please call me at (571)239-4933 (C), or Yingjiu Li at: (703)993-1629 (O), and (703)912-1536 (H)

"At that time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.' " (Luke 14:17)
